We are really excited to be presenting a set of Research Webinars in preparation of the IPNA 2025 Congress – Cape Town, South Africa – and are grateful to be teaming up with the Africa Health Care Network on the Fireside platform.
IPNA and ISN have assisted in funding for training of pediatric nephrology training throughout Africa and also the rest of the world.
The aim of these webinars are to:
- Encourage Junior career researchers in Africa and also beyond to develop research questions and ideas
- Perform robust research
- Prepare abstracts for the IPNA 2025 congress – Closing date May 2024
- Develop mentor- mentee relationships

Launched in 2020, AHN has hosted over 100 “Fireside Chats” by videoconference, bringing a global leader in Healthcare to speak to a virtual audience from across Africa and beyond each week.
For example, recent speakers have included:
- Prof. Michel Jadoul: Spoke about “Ten Lessons to Remember when Treating a Patient with Glomerulonephritis”
- Dr. Elenjickal Elias John: Spoke about “Hypernatremia – A Case Based Approach”
- Teresa Rodriguez, RDN, IDNCP, CNSC,LDN, CLT : Spoke about “Can We Reverse Type-2 Diabetes Mellitus with a Low Carbohydrate and Ketogenic Diet”
The sessions are free on AHN’s YouTube channel (link). Participants in each session are eligible to receive Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits.

ISN Fellowships
Since 2018, AHN has assisted multiple candidates for the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) Fellowships, a prestigious international program, to send physician leaders from East Africa abroad to train under the top leaders globally.
Clinical Research
Under the direction of our Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Lloyd Vincent, AHN has conducted various clinical research programs over the years. Our publications and abstracts have been presented globally.
